Interval. is a simple interval timer app. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and what we (simpleThings.) can and cannot see.
The Short Version
- We do not collect, receive, or share any personal data. We have no servers and no accounts, and the app makes no network requests to us or to anyone else.
- Your data is stored only on your own devices. simpleThings. cannot access it.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
What the App Stores, and Where
Workout plans (name, work duration, rest duration, sets) are saved on your iPhone. If you use the Apple Watch app, your plans are sent directly from your iPhone to your own paired Apple Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity.
Free-use count. Interval. includes a limited number of free workouts. To keep track of how many you have used, the app stores a small usage count in the iOS Keychain on your iPhone. It is not synced to iCloud or to your other devices. The Apple Watch app does not count workouts.
This record is just a number. It does not contain your name, your Apple ID, your workouts, or anything else about you. We cannot see it, and it is never sent to us.
New iPhone. Because the count stays on the iPhone where it was created, a new iPhone usually starts with a fresh count. The count moves to a new iPhone only if you restore it from an encrypted backup made on your computer.
Device backups. Like other apps, Interval.'s data on your iPhone may be included when you back up your device with iCloud Backup or to your computer, and restored along with that backup. Those backups are created and kept by Apple or on your own computer. We have no access to them.
In-App Purchase
An optional one-time purchase unlocks unlimited use. It is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment or billing information. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy
Deleting Your Data
- Workout plans: delete a plan on the home screen by swiping left on it, or by long-pressing it and choosing Delete.
- Deleting the app removes your workout plans and settings from your iPhone.
- Free-use count: the usage count is stored in the iOS Keychain, which iOS may keep even after you delete the app. In that case the count is still there if you reinstall. The app has no option to reset it. simpleThings. cannot access it.
- Because we never receive or hold any of this data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side, and no request to make to us.
Children's Privacy
Interval. does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version at this URL and update the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
